Teens
A group for Jewish teenagers across the South Bay.
CTeen is where Jewish teenagers get to be Jewish among people their own age: no test, no dues, no expectation that you already know anything. Come as you are and bring a friend.
CTeen of Silicon Valley is a Jewish teen group in San Jose with fun and educational events all year round. What is coming up is posted on its Instagram page and on its own website.

There is a trip to Israel for teens from the South Bay, run with Bay Area JYN and CTeen NorCal. It is their trip rather than ours, so the dates and the registration live with them — but our teens go, and we will tell you honestly whether it looks like a fit for yours.
A good deal of what CTeen does is for somebody else: packing for a holiday program, baking and delivering Challah, visiting people who do not get many visitors. If your school asks for community service hours, ask us and we will sort out what you need — but that is not really why teenagers keep turning up.
Everything the shul needs hands for
CTeen International runs a Shabbaton weekend that fills New York City with Jewish teens from all over the world — around four thousand of them, from more than fifty countries. There are tracks through the city, services and workshops, a Havdallah concert in Times Square, and a farewell mega-event that sends everyone home on a high. Teens from our chapter go.
It has run over the February school break. Check shabbaton.cteen.com for the next one. Places are booked well in advance.
A three-day overnight program for teenage boys, on a 200-acre campground in Saratoga: sports, hiking, archery, meals cooked fresh, and a campfire barbecue under the stars, with Jewish teens from across the Bay. Food, transport, activities and lodging are all included.
It is run by Chabad of Santa Clara rather than by us, and buses have left from there. The last price published was $450 per camper, for boys aged roughly 12 to 15, with scholarships available on request.
Ask them on 408-718-9074 or info@tevateens.com, or ask us and we’ll tell you whether it’s running this year.
The CTeen program is dedicated in loving memory of Connie Schein, OBM. A woman of deep kindness, warmth, and generosity, Connie inspired all who knew her. Her legacy continues to shine through the teens whose lives are touched by CTeen.
Younger brothers and sisters have Hebrew School and our after-school program. Coming up on thirteen? See Bar & Bat Mitzvah.
