You may read, print and share anything on this site for personal, educational or communal use. You may not scrape it wholesale, republish it as your own, or use it to send unsolicited mail to anybody whose details appear on it.
We try hard to keep everything here accurate. Times, dates and prices change, and occasionally we are the last to know. Candle-lighting and zmanim are calculated for San Jose from published astronomical data and are reliable to within a minute or so — but for a halachic decision that turns on the exact moment, ask the Rabbi rather than a web page.
Donations are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. A receipt is emailed automatically and carries our EIN, which is what your accountant needs.
Donations are final and are not refundable as a matter of course — but if you gave by mistake, gave twice, or entered the wrong amount, tell us within thirty days and we will simply refund it. There is no argument to be had about this.
A recurring gift can be cancelled at any time, by you, from the giving page or by one phone call. We will not make you write a letter.
Where a gift is given to a named fund or campaign, it is used for that purpose. If a campaign closes or cannot go ahead, the money is applied to the closest related purpose and anybody who gave more than a nominal amount is told what happened.
Booking a slot — the mikvah, or a meeting with the Rabbi or Rebbetzin — holds that time for you. Very occasionally we have to move one, for a funeral or an emergency; if that happens somebody contacts you personally, not by automated email.
Please cancel a slot you cannot use. Every cancellation email carries a link that does it in one click, and the slot goes straight back to somebody else who needs it.
Registrations for Hebrew School, camp, and events are confirmed when we confirm them, not automatically on submission — places are limited and we would rather tell you honestly than take a payment for a place that has gone. Refund terms for each programme are stated on that programme’s own page.
Cost is never the reason a Jewish child does not get a Jewish education here. If a fee is a problem, say so privately and it is handled privately.
Questions, prayer requests and letters sent through this site are read by a person and kept private. We do not publish them, sell them, or use them as examples. Booking the mikvah is held to a higher standard again: those details are encrypted, kept out of our ordinary records, and deleted after the retention period. The privacy page sets out exactly what is kept and for how long.
Nothing sent through this website is legally privileged, and none of it should be your only channel in an emergency. If something is urgent, call.
Nothing here is legal, financial, medical or psychological advice, and a page about Jewish practice is not a halachic ruling for your situation. Rabbi Weinfeld will happily discuss any of it with you; that conversation, and not this website, is where an answer for your circumstances comes from.
We do not promise that this site is always up. It is a small organisation’s website, not a utility. If it is down when you need something, the phone works.
