The autumn festivals
During the High Holidays, the doors to heaven are open to all — so are ours.
You do not need to buy anything, join anything, reserve anything, or know anybody. There is no ticket desk, because there are no tickets. Walk in.
If you are reading this page, you are already a member of our synagogue — every Jew is, and there is no membership fee. Come late, come for twenty minutes, come with children, come having not been to a service in thirty years. All of that is normal here.
If you would rather not walk in cold, tell us you are coming and somebody will look out for you.
The High Holidays here are paid for by people who have been here before. The High Holiday appeal is how, and there is no amount that is too small to be part of it.
Everything from erev Rosh Hashanah through Simchat Torah. There is no ticket and no seat charge for any of it — come to one service or to all of them.
The Shofar next year. The first day of Rosh Hashanah is Shabbat, so the Shofar is not blown that morning. It is sounded on Sunday, October 3, the second day, only. It is a rabbinic safeguard, not a shortened holiday — the second day of Rosh Hashanah is a full part of it everywhere.
Tashlich is said on the afternoon of Sunday, October 3, moved with the Shofar to the second day.
