Who you will meet

Meet the team

The people you'll meet at Chabad of Silicon Valley.

Rabbi Mendel & Mussi Weinfeld

Directors

Rabbi Mendel Weinfeld founded and directs the Chabad House. He and Mussi were born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to San Jose at the start of 2020 to establish it. They are members of the Chabad community of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, and it was his vision that sent them here as his emissaries to serve the Jewish community.

The Rabbi teaches, officiates, and gives guidance on personal and religious matters to people of every age and background. As he puts it: “As a representative of Chabad, I consider it my privilege and duty to serve the Jewish community in San Jose. We will go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable.”

You can reach the Rabbi directly at 408-910-2034 or Rabbi@chabadalmaden.com. He meets people at their own home in San Jose or at his — half an hour or so, about whatever it is. Book a time.

Mussi directs the education side of the house: Hebrew School and Camp Gan Israel in the summer. She also teaches Torah & Tea for women on Tuesday evenings. She can be reached at mussi@chabadalmaden.com.

Rabbi Noach Vogel

Senior Rabbi

Rabbi Vogel is our Senior Rabbi. If you would like to meet him, or there is something you would rather ask a rabbi than read on a website, call the office on 408-910-2034 and we will introduce you.

Luba Perlov

Russian Programming Director

Luba leads our programming for the Russian-speaking community — the classes, the dinners, the concerts and the hiking group — together with Baruch Perlov, who co-directs it with her. The best route to either of them is the Russian-speaking community page, or the office.
