Every night from the second night of Passover until the night before Shavuot, we count the days. There are forty-nine of them, which is seven full weeks.
The next count is on the evening of Thursday, April 22, 2027. Shavuot follows on June 11.
Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe, who has made us holy with His commandments and commanded us concerning the counting of the Omer.
The blessing comes first, and then the count of the night. Your siddur has the words of the count for each day. If you are not sure how to count, or you missed a night, call the office and a person will help.
Each week has a quality of the heart, and each day of the week has one too. The count asks us to work on ourselves, one quality at a time, between the Exodus and the giving of the Torah. Day 18, for example, is Netzach in Tiferet.
