Maaser kesafim — giving a tenth of what comes in — is a widely kept and highly praised custom. It is arithmetic, not a rule that fits everyone the same way.
A simple way to work out a tenth (or up to a fifth) of what you've earned. This is a widely kept custom of great merit, not a fixed rule with one right answer for everyone — if your own situation is not straightforward, ask your Rav.
